To check if a song is copyrighted, you can look at certain databases, such as PDinfo and search the song. If the song is in the public domain, then it is not copyrighted.
Can I use someone else's work?

What is fair use?
Fair use is the use of a copyrighted work for criticism, comment, news, reporting, teaching including multiple copies for classroom use, scholarship, research and similar purposes.
How do I get permission to use copyrighted music?
In order to obtain permission to use copyrighted music, you have to go through the Filipino Society of Composers, Authors and Publishers or FILSCAP and fill out their requirements.
